Discovered by a West Virginia farmer at the end of the 19th century, made famous by the Stark Brothers nursery in the 1950s. Heavy crops and fruit that keeps in storage long after harvest make it a farmers favorite apple to grow. If left to ripen to full potential, an exceptionally sweet and rich apple with strong notes of raw sugar cane. Great for sweet and savory recipes alike.
